So how many hunt Coosa? I agreed to a camping trip to wind creek spring break so looks like I gotta figure it out.

I think PCP will be your Coosa WMA expert. Seems I also remember someone mentioning they cut a lot of timber on it.

I used to hunt it a lot, but all the places I used to hunt have been taken out. About the only thing left is the FW land. I think I'd go to Hollins too.

Breeze, I might be there too and had the same idea. I’ll find out for sure and will call you if I’m gonna be there. We’ll go drive around and blow some peacock, crow, and owl calls and see if we can find one! grin

If my memory serves me right a bunch of the coosa wma borders hatchet creek. If so, there should still be plenty of roost trees along back in there.

About the only place left to hunt is along Hatchett Creek, and I'm sure there are still turkeys there. I always hunted along Weogufka creek and all of that is now out. I know of folks that hunt by boat on Hatchett and that is the probably the most efficient way.

It used to be over 40,000 acres; I think it's about 12,000 now. I don't think anyone made much of an effort to save it. I guess holding on to public hunting land is not really a priority to anyone.

More people than Turkeys on Hollins.
That place has been like a Circus the past few years.
It's actually comical to see people riding down the road
yelping out the window.
