I've really been thinking this off season about what I want to accomplish as a hunter. I've been forchanant to have several really nice places to hunt over the last 12 years or so. I've taken a nice mature buck every year so now I find myself some what board with the going to a nice camp and watching satellite tv in the morning before going hunting.
I was brought up public land hunting and I miss the ruffin it in a tent and keeping a warm fire going. I feel some what wasteful blowing all the money I do on the land I hunt when there's so much under utilized public land hunting, bow hunting in particular. I love qdma but I simply cant stomach spending big bucks to better someone else's land.I'm 36 now and I feel like I'm in my prime as a Hunter mentally, physically and maybe not so much not so much financially. That being said my new goal as a hunter is to kill a mature buck on public land with a bow and get more out of my time on hunting trips and not kick back on the couch at camp.
Have any of you guys set a goal as hunters?
