What do you think the average cost for a roof replacement in north Alabama is for a 1866 sqft house? We had some hail damage in March and I filed a claim. I just received the amount they will be covering and from their estimate, it's not going to cover the entire roof. I'm a little confused though because the adjuster said they would only cover the cost to replace the back of the house, because the front had very little damage, but when I received the amount, it's about 75-80% of what they estimate it will cost to replace the entire roof. I'm hoping the amount they will be writing the check for will cover the entire roof.

$150-175 per sq. Possibly more if it's steep and hard to get to.

Who's your insurance with? You will still owe your deductible out of pocket and you may have some non recoverable depreciation. How many square are they covering and I'll tell you if they paid you enough Our insurance is through Progressive. QBE is the underwriter. I can't figure out how many square they are covering. It didn't really say. The house had a new roof put on in 2012. We just bought the house 3 months ago and it was our first house purchase so I've never had to deal with this before.

I just got a roof in February. The insurance company cut us 2 checks. Second one was after satisfactory completion of the job. I forgot now, but mine was somewhere around $10k on a 2 story house.

I wouldn't accept only the back being roofed. It won't match the front.

Mine was replaced about 6 months ago with architectural shingles. $8500 for 2000 sq ft.

Crew out of Russellville done some for me in Jan. I think it was $70/sq for archarchitectual, put down tarps, cleaned the mess up you couldn't even tell they had been there other than the new roof. Was gone by 11 am tore off one layer, new synthetic felt, shingles, and roof boots and removed all the debirs replaced a few pieces of soft decking as it was a rental I had just purchased.
