Went this morning and heard one bird. He was in a bottom near the property line. I got in my truck and moved closer, another member had heard him too and pulled up next to me. We sat there and listen and could someone hooting/screaming/ gagging or something close to the turkey we had heard. Figured it was another member close to him so went left the area. At our club meeting it turns out that it was probably loggers on the next property messing with the birds. Unless the birds show back up at my house, I'm done for the season. The birds at the club are hard to kill for me, and I have knee surgery this Wednesday. Good luck to y'all, at least I can read about some killing on here

Prayers for the knee surgery to be successful, and return you back to 100% mobility.

What type of surgery, complete replacement?

God Bless,
David B.

Hate to hear that G/H. Sometimes hunting clubs can be worse than public land and timber crews sure don't help anything. Good luck with your surgery. Hope it all goes well and you have a speedy recovery

Good luck with your surgery. I had my achilles tendon reattached 26 years ago and tried to turkey hunt on crutches. Didn't work out too well.

Good luck with the surgery!

G/H, hope the best for you. I feel for you, I am an avid turkey hunter that loves it like no other. I have had neck problems for years and it was time that I had to have surgery. I had surgery the Friday before the season opened on Wednesday. I has really been tough not to be able to go hunting and the bad thing is, I won't be able to shoot a shotgun at all. There won't be no killing for me. It has been two weeks and I can drive now. I hope to be able to take my brother or a friend hunting and call them one up. It not as good as killing one, but it's close. It will have to do. I'm blessed to be doing so good after my surgery. It is tuff though, not being able to hunt. Good luck

With any luck, your season isn't over. Another member here had surgery for a meniscus tear not long before season and already has a bird in the bag. I put off surgery until this week so I could hunt opening weekend. Surgery was Thursday and I'm walking with a cane today, still hopeful of hunting again this season, even if its deer hunting them. Don't give up yet, brother. And hope all goes well.

You'll possibly still get to hunt.

I had a tear, and surgery, and was up and going fairly quickly.

Probably won't be walking a mile to hunting spots, but turkeys can walk just as good as us to calling.

God Bless,
David B.

Hopefully you'll be back after them in a couple weeks!
