Anyone have one? It's on my short list for the build I'm currently doing.

I have one and its a great scope the only negative I've found is that its finicky with eye positioning but if you shoot a lot that should be no problem

When I need expert advice I tend to talk to myself
The older I get the better I used to be

I read it that as well. It can't be any worse than my 5-25x50 Zeiss. It has a horrible eye box.

Josh,I don't have any experience with those kinds of scopes but I suppose I would want to know how that Burris compares to something like this Nightforce for the same money. My only point being that Nightforce is very well known for reliability.I'm not so sure of Burris just by name. As I said ,I don't run in those circles though.

I have a burris xtr ii 5-25x50 and have been very happy with it, and feel it is a heck of a lot of scope for the money, backed by a great warranty. The clicks are very positive and it tracks true, and the zero stop is nice. Burris just released a non-illuminated version which is about $100 less and is what I would buy if I needed another. I have not noticed any issue with the eye box being any trickier than any other high mag scope I have shot.

I also have a NF NXS 5-22x56 and I think the glass is clearer, but I paid comsiderably more for it, and didn't get zero stop which was a big mistake. I could have NF add it but it is would cost a couple hundred.

From my research Burris is making a hard run at the "tactical" market and is being very aggressive with their pricing, customer service, and product line.

This is my first burris, but me and my buddy have both been pleased with them. He is running the 40x xtr, and I have watched him wear out some steel at 1150 and call every hit.

If you ever get down this way I would be happy to let you look through them side.

I just made an offer on the same model NXS. If it falls through I will probably order the Burris

If you wind up,ordering a Burris, give me a holler. I ordered mine from an outfit in Louisianna that I had never heard of, but they beat everybodies price and had the best customer service I have ever dealt with. They called me within 10 minutes of me placing my order online to answer a question I had, and I had a shipping notice 15 minutes after that. The scope was on my door step in 2 days.

Will do. Good customer service is what keeps these small businesses going. I always try and b through them.

I have the burris xtrII with GB2 MilDot reticle. I love everything about it...except its a little heavy with the 34mm tube, but most quality long range scopes are. I bought the burris after talking to a few long range instructors that see all scopes in all price ranges. They suggested the Burris for $1100-1300 range, or the NF for $2k+ range.

I ordered from optics planet. had to return the Burris 34mm rings, and they were good about that but slow with the refund.
