Born and lived in AL my whole life, lived within about a 3 square mile area my entire life. Never been more than 10 mins away from TN

When my great, great, great Granddaddy came here it was the Mississippi territory. Shortly afterwards Alabama. He and his family is on the 1820 US census for what was then Pike County (NE Coffee today). We have been here ever since.

Beginning at the point where the line of the thirty first degree of north Latitude intersects the Perdido river, thence east to the Western boundary line of the State of Georgia, thence along said line to the Southern boundary line to the State of Tennessee, thence West along said boundary line to the Tennessee river, thence up the same to the mouth of Bear creek, thence by a direct line to the north-west corner of Washington County, thence due South to the Gulph of Mexico, thence eastwardly including all the islands within six leagues of the shore to the Perdido River, and thence up the same to the beginning, shall, for the purpose of a temporary government, constitute a separate Territory, and be called "Alabama".

Grew up in NW AL. Moved to Starkville, MS, Perkinston, MS, back to NW AL, Water Valley, MS, Purvis, MS, then back to NW AL. I ain't a going anywhere else. Here to stay. I don't like hot weather, but I'm tired of hearing the griping. Its part of life. I work in it all the time, and am perfectly used to it. If you work in it then it's not a big deal.

I've lived my whole 58+ years in north Alabama. I've traveled a lot with my jobs but this is home. I have gotten spoiled to AC. Never had it until I moved away from home when I was 18 or 19. I guess I've gotten soft.

Born in Guntersville. Lived in several states and on some ugly Pacific islands. Got back to Guntersville for good in '95. 5th generation native of Alabama.

Born and raised outside of Tuscumbia. Lived in Bama all 54 years except 5 spent in Newport, Tn. The last 25 years have been in the foundry business, so I can take the heat, but still hate it.

I was born in Alabama. My daddy was from Panama City Beach Florida and my mother was from Nawlins Louisiana. I spent the majority of my summers as a child in or near those two places with family. I've always gravitated to the coast even though my job has me inland at times. Hopefully pretty soon the wife and I will make coastal living a full time part of our lives instead part time. I guess this is why I love summer time so much.

Everyone complains about the weather, but no one ever does anything.

Was in Western Oklahoma a few years ago the second week of July along with some friends from TN. We were at a big John Deere Tractor show. It was about 90-95 there but it wasn't humid at all and the wind was always blowing, so not bad at all and comfortable in the shade. We all laughed at the locals complaining about the heat. To hear them tell it, only place hotter had to be hell. Midwesterners and Northerners are tough and resilient till it's about 90+ degrees with high humidity, then they melt.

Born in Alabama. Lived here until I was 15 then moved to Nebraska for 5 years. Moved back to Alabama and been here ever since.

Mom and Dad are both from Alabama.

I can see that. They tend to not let mental patients stray too far from the hospital.
