I'm thinking of getting my bow out and start shooting it some.
It is a Mathews Outback, and I haven't shot it in probably 9 or 10 years. Anybody have any advice on what I need to do to the thing to make sure it doesn't explode the first time I draw it?

What about arrows? I was shooting Easton Axis. Are they ok to shoot, or do they have a limited lifespan?

Check the string and cable over good for any signs of wear or damage, but it is advisable that you get them replaced. Even though the bow hasn't been shot in 10 years, the strings have been under tension for that long. Also look the limbs over well. As for the arrows, as long as they have been indoors and out of direct sunlight, they should be fine. Might want to check the fletches to see if they are brittle or coming loose.

Anywhere from $75 to $150 depending the string brand and who installs & sets the bow back up.

Get your strings from shaw. He is the man when it comes to bowstrings. He built my strings and help me set my bow up before this past season. My bow shoots better than it ever has.
