Thats cool. And did you take part of DSHC and divide it so it can go to B&D hunting club?

Is B&D the land that Bishop had?

So why the 1,000 acre cut in DSHC? and where did that land go?

I am letting it go, with a three year old at home, I am working in north AL and a wife that works every other weekend. my hunting has been cut in half, when my boy gets a little older and can start going with me I may look at picking up the south half again.

Coming from someone who's been there, could it possibly be that this gentlemen downsized his current club and joined another because of the headache that comes with running a larger club? From what I've seen in the past, DSHC has to fill openings every year - as most hunting clubs do. When you consider the time, expense, and headache of getting new members... along with the headache that often comes with trying to keep everyone happy, I can understand a man who says "I'd like to have a smaller club to run"... and also have one where he can say "I'm just a member here - I don't have to deal with issues from members or find new members every year."

I'm guessing no explanation this guy gives is going to hold water with those who are trying to press the issue... once you're convinced someone is a bad person, you're always going to be convinced there are ulterior motives.

Never met the fellow, but it seems like he said he dropped a thousand acres because he has family stuff going on and can't hunt that much so he downsized the property, but then he admits to joining another club too, which conflicts with the previous statement. Again, never met the guy, but usually when someone yells fire, there is at least some smoke in the area and there is some "talking in circles". Either way, hope the guy fills his club and hopefully the new members have a great experience and nobody gets screwed. Good luck fella (s)

You can't win for losing on this site. no matter what I say somebody is going to twist it around and make it bad.

If you have ever ran a GOOD club you know what it takes to keep it up. Keeping up with 2500acres is hard. but being a member of a club with 2500acres is easy. You go down for a couple work days and then you get to scout or work on your own stuff. When you are running a club you don't have free time.

Know your pain... unless someone has been there, most club members have no idea the cost/time associated with running a club. And, sooner or later, you'll tick someone off for one reason or another.

I was in this club this past year. I noticed no problems at all. It is a nice group of guys and a good well managed deer herd. It is a decent family friendly club. I saw none of the problems described in the previous post. I suspect that whoever this TruTalker is has some kind of beef with Eric. He is the first and only person I have ever heard say anything bad about this club. (And yes, I am staying in the club for the next season.)

Not my first post and I was in the club this past year also. Didn't kill much but I was sick the last three weeks of season and didn't hunt one time. Eric is a good guy as far as I know and all the guys I met there were good guys as well. Family friendly club and wish them nothing but the best. I got out this season because I had rather just pay to go on a hunt somewhere and hunt close to home the rest of the year. If anyone joins DSHC and needs a camper I can hook ya up with one that's already there and set up.
