Good luck with that!

100 acres ~$1500 per member in N.Al, shooting only 160"+ deer.
I was in a club here that had similar hopes and aspirations, payed $4K/yr for 3200 acres, and that was extremely high. In 4 yrs there were a total of 0 deer over 160" harvested. That land had been strictly managed for about 15 yrs prior.

Not saying you can't do it, but it will be a steep climb.

BTW, I probably know of the land you're talking about, and I know one other LMC that is trying to get it.

He never said 160. He said 120. The 160 was from someone else's response.

Yep, check Red Heads' posts above, he only shoots 160s in Alabama. Maybe he can post up some pics of him with a bunch of dead 160s.

Oh, sorry. 120 is more realistic around here. Bunch of those running around.

I wish you were closer to Montgomery because I would jump all over that.. I like the idea of having a high pricetag so you can be assured that you are attracting the kind of person that wont pay that amount to kill a basket rack, just so he can say he killed a seven point. If you decide to move your mentality/operation down south a couple of hours, holler at me.. Good luck in finding the right group of folks..

No update yet....only thing I can say is that IF it happens I have plenty of people express interest in paying $3000 or more to keep hunter numbers down.

If anyone wants to pay $3k for a lease per 200 acres and shoot 120 inch deer let me know. I'll lease my place all day long for that.

Plenty of big deer in Jackson, CO. BUT - There are few if not zero tracts of land in N. Alabama large enough to grow 160's consistently without a fence even if intensely managed. Might be a few tracts like that of mountain land, but good luck with that. You'll have to pour the feed to them by the train car load.

Consistent 120-130's are doable elsewhere with good management.

Not sense Jacob Moutain went to public land. That tract of land produced 120 to 140 inch deer every year

I am interested...No 100" mountain deer. I am gunning for the corn-bean-and-acorn-fed bruisers. I need 130"+. Willing to spend $$$ for higher acres/member.

If I held out for a 160 here in Bama, my wall would be empty of deer heads. There is nothing wrong with killing a 4 yr old four or six point. And, well.... I guess I would pull my release on a 140" ten point too.

I'm hunting in the wrong part of the state.

It has for the last 12 years. Don't know him probable long time ago when he had it. I'm guessing when it was called B & G
