A threat was written in on a wall in an Auburn library tonight saying "I will unleash a rampage of biblical proportion across this tiny campus....you have been warned"
This threat is to not be taken lightly as tomorrow is the anniversary of the Virginia Tech shooting.
If anyone of ya'll is around campus tomorrow or has family and friends on campus please warn them. Please be safe and God Bless.

Apparently there was a guy that was seen all around campus yesterday, no backpack, acting suspicious. He made enough people nervous that several called the police. They could not find him but did find the above writing on a floor he was last seen on.

This article says the threat was found in Haley center three weeks ago and not in the library. Hopefully nothing will come of this. I wish they could find the punk who wrote it.

From the look of the paint it was from Haley, the AU Alert the students got was very vague. Just informed us that there would be added security...

Well, they just shut down the campus for today.... Say they have no further leads but parents' anxiety has caused the shutdown.

Probably not a bad idea with a sicko like that....

According to the Twitter and Instagram info posted yesterday, police have known about this for at least three weeks. The message was discovered in Haley by at least one student, if not two or more, and forwarded to campus and AU police.

As of 1 a.m. last night they had not shut down campus or canceled classes today. This latest is something that developed during the night and forced the cancelation.

I think the reason they cancelled is due to the misinformation surrounding the threat due to its spread via social media.

Without social media no one would have known about this. Police knew for three weeks and didn't say shucks about it. Parents are pissed, and anxious.

Social media definitely has its problems -- this deer site is a social media site -- but information can get circulated in helpful ways. A little more transparency by the AU and Campus police and university might have helped dispel a lot of the anxiety and misinformation going around.

Gotta protect the image, though.

I thought Florida State already unleashed hell on Auburn, lol. Prolly Harvey Updike wrote that, lol. It's silly really that Auburn had to cancel all classes for some idiot writing that. That's what these people want, to disrupt our lives.

If they didn't cancel classes and something happened, the liability would be monumental and the "silly" factor of not canceling it would be ridiculed via public backlash.

As a parent with a child attending AU next year, I'd err on the side of caution. I know life must go on. But even with some idiotic crap like this that probably isn't legitimate you can't just shrug it off in this day and time.

Wasn't Updyke or they'd have found his DNA in the bathroom stall where he was tuggin' off to a photo of Bear Bryant.

It was found an the Auburn police was notified on March 26th. They did nothing about it until it went viral on social media yesterday. All of the sudden, it is a big ordeal now and the Auburn police are trying to cover themselves.
