I know this one to be true. Worked at an oil field fabrication company during the summers when I was In highschool, one old guys clothes were noticeably less stained than mine were. He told me when you get oil or grease on your clothes if you don't want to rurn them gojo or fast orange without the pumice rubbed with a stiff brush will cut grease better than anything
We will burn that bridge when we get there

playing with my wifes boobs will give her breast cancer. I'm not gonna say how I know this, but I've got a really, really good idea that that one is false. You know TFD's wife? NO! but I do know mine...

A tea bag on a bad tooth will draw the infection out.
Paint a beach ball black and spray with contact cement and hang in the yard and your yellow fly problem will be solved.
Fill a zip-loc bag with water and hang in doorway and it'll keep flys from coming in.
Hunt'em hard when they are hard to hunt but never, ever hardly hunt!

He told me when you get oil or grease on your clothes if you don't want to rurn them gojo or fast orange without the pumice rubbed with a stiff brush will cut grease better than anything when I worked on an oil field supply boat we would coat our face and arms with Vaseline when we had to pull the deck boards after drill mud spills. The tar and drill mud wouldn't stick and the Vaseline was easier to wash off than either the drill mud or the tar(ospho).

Hell I had to sell the bags to buy the water, then all was lost.

When I was young my mom would give me a spoon of sorghum syrup mixed with powder sulfur in the spring for chiggers and other bugs.

It is interesting how many of these have a basis in fact. A few drops of urine in an ear ache will draw out the fluid build up behind the ear drum. Urine is sterile (usually) when it is fresh, but sweet oil drops will do the same thing and don't have the yuck factor. Dog wood bark was used by our native Americans for many things because it contains a natural form of aspirin. I have used tobacco juice on a wasp bite many times, the nicotine is a pain reliever, and is one reason man old folks chewed it, to relieve the pain of a bad tooth, or a mouth full of them. a whole clove will also reduce the pain of a tooth ache. Elderberry wine is good for old horses and old men because it contains a heart drug we use today. Putting a chicken breast on a snake bite is like another remedy, putting a piece of liver on the snake bite. that was the basis of the story the Yearling bu Marguerite Rawlings. The daddy got bitten by a cotton mouth (I think, maybe a cane break rattlesnake) and he killed a doe with a fawn to use the liver to take the poison out of the bite. Daddy survived, the boy got the fawn. Cob webs do stop bleeding, sugar will keep a cut from getting infected. A past of baking soda let to dry on poison ivy will draw out the poison and dry it up. I have not heard of adding the coffee, but the caffeine might be a vaso-restricter. There are a lot of old remedies out there that work, there are a lot that don't, and a lot that hurt more than cure. I tend to trust my Dr. rather that the old granny woman.

urine in a bad ear really works.I personally have never had an earache but I have family thats swears by it.my grandad always use to tell me that if you can get close enough to put salt on a birds tale you can catch it.I wasted alot of salt when I was a kid only to realize when I got older that yeah you can catch a bird if your close enough to put salt on its tail.lol
