Hey guys..my wife and I are looking to go to the beach for a week. Im 52..shes 49. We wont have our son with us as hes in college. We will have 2 dogs with us possibly if we can find a place that takes pets. I like to fish. We want to be on the beach , bay or lagoon preferably. We want to be fairly close to resturant choices without driving too far. ( Fort Morgan where we stayed before was a drive to resturants)
What are your recommendations?

X3. No hustle and bustle. Not many places to eat but enough. Pets on the beach. No high rise condos. short drive to apalachicola for more shops and restaurants. Really cool place for a beach/bay experience. I take the family every summer.

doekiller is right. There aren't very many places to eat right there, pretty much Coneheads is the only place right on the cape. Indian Pass is not far, nor is Triple Tails. A little further to Port St Joe. I am not much on eating out, so it is perfect for me. We usually cook out most of the trip, and only visit a restaurant 1 or 2 times. OF all the places to eat, my favorite is Indian Pass Raw Bar To me though, it's worth it. Last time I went we stayed on the bay side, and this is what we awoke to each morning.

THIS ^^^ Best beach in the southeast no doubt. Golf carts are welcomed on all island roads. All restaurants are open air and dives. Old Florida at its best. Best shore fishing and it's so easy even TC could do it.

Man I love Indian Pass raw bar. It is good but can be very crowded. Try Up The Creek Raw Bar in Apalachicola. Very good as well(in fact, we like it better). And you can look directly out over the bay while eating.
