Yea I know the club and area well. The club is off of Hwy 59 in Blacksher and you turn on County Rd 61 and go back towards Lottie. The south border of the lease is Pine Log Creek. Dues last I heard was around $3000 per year. Decent hunting and a lower than average hunter/acreage leased ratio.

Know it real well. Used to hunt it A LOT when I was a kid/teen/early adult and it was still part of the Patterson family lease.

Large, and I mean LARGE green fields. I'd say they average 3 acres or so, with the "old field" (#18) being close to 6 acres. The smallest field I can remember (#11) was still probably a little better than an acre.

It was very frequent to see as many as 25-30 deer in an afternoon back in those days, with up to a hundred on some of the larger fields not uncommon. Those days have long passed, but that's not a bad thing. Body weights and horn sized had declined to the point that a large doe was maybe 80 lbs, and the bigger bucks being killed (which were few and far between) were weighing in the neighborhood of 130-140 with fairly scrawny racks. They are killing some pretty nice bucks out there nowadays, as well as seeing quite a few deer.

As previously said, it's not cheap, but there is a lot of land and the hunter/land ratio is very good. It's almost strictly pine plantation. I have not been on the property in several years, other than to Patterson Lake, which is a mile or so back into the property. The main camphouse sits right on the lake.

Have you tried Google?

A lot has changed hunter buck. I have several good friends in the Carney Club and the hunting is exceptional. I think the dues are around 3200 a year. They have a minimum 14" inside spread rule strictly enforced. The south boundary is indeed Pine Log Creek. The club is right at 8500 acres give or take a hundred. I'd say about 70% is pine plantations at various stages, the rest are hardwoods. The camp house is on the lake as stated above. South of Pine Log Creek is Southside Hunting Club. Their dues run 2000 a year for about 9100 acres. It's all Rayonier land. The turkey hunting is pretty good on both clubs. Southside has a 13" inside spread rule. The contact for Southside is Allen Walston. For Carney the man's first name is Jason I believe. The genetics run good in that area.

I came, I saw, so I killed them all......Vern
