This is my son at the range. Most of his form looks right to me, but it looks like he pulls back too far. Does it look like the draw length is too long?

at his nock point his string should be at the corner of his mouth and he should be able to touch the string with the tip of his nose. His draw length is an inch er so too long. Also appears that his peep is too high. Fix those things and his shooting will improve greatly. Ps you could also cut about 4 inches off that arrow.

The draw may be a tad long, but try this first. See if you can get him to stand up straight, straighten his left arm out a tad and anchor with the string on the tip of his nose. You may have to adjust his peep. I've never been a fan of anchoring on the side of the nose like that. The pressure you put on the string with your face can lead to tuning problems.

Y'all oughta come down to Talladega and shoot with us on April 19th. We are having a bha 3d shoot and it would be a lot of fun for both of you. There will be other kids shooting and you could pick up a lot of tips and techniques. There would be a class for both of y'all to shoot in. There will be door prizes and food too. It is a great way to train yourself for bow hunting.

OK. Thanks guys. That's what I thought, but he says this feels right. I want to stop the bad habits now while it will be easier to correct them. I think I will also get a kisser button put on it next time we are at the bow shop.
