Atoler 14 point A Joined: Feb 2013 Posts: 8,395	Congrats again. I'm literally getting a little depressed, I spent about 20 hours in the woods and heard 5 gobbles total between two birds. Both were waaaay off and shut up by the time I got close. I know I'm on them I've seen over 20 hens scattered through this block of woods and called in a couple jakes, but the gobblers won't talk or show themselves... Getting pretty dang frustrated.

It was a pretty good sized bird. It weighed a little over 20lbs and had an almost 11" bird. However, from a scoring perspective this bird isn't going to help much. JR

I had an awesome hunt Monday (called one in range but didn't get to kill him) and thought it was about to bust loose. It got progressively worse every day last week. Absolutley terrible. Atoler 14 point A Joined: Feb 2013 Posts: 8,395	Finally managed to break the ice. Textbook hunt, private land is so rewarding after dealing with these devilish public land birds. Pretty good bird, 10 5/8 beard, 19lbs 6oz, and 1&1/8 and 1&1/4 on the spurs.
