As a "senior" southern sportsman, I feel compelled to suggest for your inquiry this club, Conecuh River Hunting Club,15 minutes south of Union Springs, Al., in Bullock County. I have been in 4 deer/turkey clubs in the last 30 years, 3 of them great, one a disaster, and I was president of two of them. I just joined this new one(bought 2 memberships)for next season. I believe it to have a great deer/turkey population, with mature harvest the rule. The property is the MAIN drawing card.
Guest rules are very limited, and grown sons are guest.
Here is your challenge: If you can find a well run, 15 year old club (same management) with mature deer harvest only (few, limited exceptions for first time youngsters as first buck) with at least 4,500 acres and only 17 members, great ratio, and 1500 acres (1/3 of total land) being virgin hardwood, river bottom, running literally 4 miles through the property, on either side of the Conecuh River, and only $2,500 per year, then take that opportunity if available.
Otherwise, call Scott at 334-695-6465 for details. Reason for openings is a recent 1,000 acres added to the lease last month. Three spots left.
At 68 years old, I have been involved, at high levels, in Birmingham DU and NWTF, plus supporter and active in AWF and GCCA for many years. This property is so good I am willing to drive 2 hours and 20 minutes from south Birmingham area to camp. I also have always had a nice camp house/lodge at my prior clubs. This is a camper deal, with all utilities, on private land. No matter. It is worth it. I am in and buying a camper. You may call me as a new member for my honest thoughts and projections, or Scott, the president, number above.
Heard a gobbler 30 times this morning there. Can't wait until this early summer to discover all 4,500 acres (on two tracks, 1/4 mile apart). Road system is good. Private land owner, not big timber company. Hardwoods will never be cut. Kid friendly !
Rick @ 205-305-9600.

thanks guys for the nice comments about the property Ranger Rick and JP Davis. This is Scott I have never used a site like this for members. It was great meeting you guys and look forward to hunting with you this year. For the others I assure you nothing has been scripted. If you look at my post you would see I added 1000 acres and just joined this site because I was told there were a lot of avid sportsmen on that use this site. Evidently you have never run a club before because if you had you would know how hard it is to blend 17 hunters into a club in today's economy. We are one of the best kept secrets in South Bullock Co because for the last 17 years word of mouth has filled our club every year. But when you add land and grow it requires getting the word out. I have shown the property to four people and all have joined. Enough said Thanks again guys Look forward to a great year. you are pretty good if you can come to the conclusion that we have never ran a hunting club strictly based on our response to your very strangley worded post.

Guys, y'all are being a little too hard and too negatively assumptive on Ranger Rick, 14baseball the other guy. I too, dislike BS when it comes to a president recruiting of members in a dysfunctional hunting club. I know RR and although I didn't know he joined this club, RR wouldn't misrepresent something and he's obviously excited to be there. Sometimes, when your authenticity is questioned, you fire back (part about not knowing how to run a club and how hard it is to synchronize 17 members, which I agree.... it is tough), so I understand 14baseball's response. RR was passionate about his posting and he's excited to be hunting there. So to you longterm Aldeer.comer guys, I have absolutely not a clue about this club but let's not be so harsh and welcome new guys to Al.deer. And of course, I say this with great respect and hat in hand. EHH, Tru-Talker and tfd1224, much respect to you guys and I understand the "I smell a rat" regarding RR's post initial post and y'all not wanting that BS here on Aldeer.com. So with hat in hand and much respect, that's my take on this and please don't take my response as direct, critical or condemning! EHH, Tru-Talker and tfd1224, you guys don't like misrepresentation and the BS of "questionable hunting club presidents" and I am right there with you and I think those type of people need to be called out. But again, I know R'Rick and he's just being passionate about his new club. And, I haven't spoken to R'Rich about this. I just know he's not dishonest.
