I almost feel stupid to ask this, but I haven't had my bow long and want to make sure I do this correctly. What is the correct way to wax a bow string? I have had some people tell me to wax only the string and not the servings. Another guy told me to wax it all. Which is it?

Wax only the exposed string material, not the serving.

What about the knocking point? On mine, the serving is looking a little rough there. If you don't wax it, what can you do to take care of it?

I always waxed everything. I don't know if it's the right answer or not, but that's what I do.

A little wax at the nocking point won't hurt. The main reason you don't wax the other servings is to keep it from collecting in the cam tracks. Wax in the cam tracks is a magnet for dirt and debris.

For what it's worth, I don't wax the served portions and I use real bees wax.

Is there an advantage to bees wax?

Not sure about the bees wax, but with the material strings are made out of these days, it's best to use wax with silicone in it. I use the Bohning Seal-Tite on all of mine.

Same thing I use. Works great!
