You aint missed anything. I just got out of the woods & I heard 2 birds gobble once each way off. Weather just shut em down I reckon. I'll be back after em in the morning.

Been without phone for awhile. Yesterday I had one walk right by me on a hill. I just couldn't see him.

Then he decided it to be a good idea to strut and gobble for a hour at 60ish yards in a hardwood bottom with my shotgun pointing at him.

He almost half to pick some shot out of him but I knew in the woods it was a questionable shot. If he would have been in the open it would have been game over.

Me and BC went down to the club we got in and didn't really have much going for 2 days. Then decided to haul tail to another property about 3-4 hours away. Glad we did, at least these birds are playing.

Congrats on the birds fellas.

Do you want to hear him gobble, or do you want to kill him.

Killed a 2yr old yesterday afternoon, 45 minutes into my 2014 season... He only had 1 spur, so his score isn't much, but it's a start. N2, i may text you pics to post for me if you don't mind. My photobucket is down.

Went to my spot this morning only to find a truck parked right where I saw 2 late yesterday afternoon. Young guy signed out for another spot thinking it was where he was. It happens on as much land as we got. I ain't mad at him. Especially since he didn't hear anything. Prolly cause they roosted bout 100 yards from where he parked. grin

Another club member kilt one and I met him on a road as I was doin a little scouting. He told me where one was gobblin when he came out so I headed over there but it had been over an hour and I couldn't get him to fire back up.

I'm givin up on the woods birds and going to hunt field birds tomorrow. I love hunting em in big hardwoods, but It's 6 days in and I ain't kilt one, so I need to change my luck. I found a tore up field that I kilt one on last year so hopefully i'll have some luck.
