I let one slide this morning. It was like I was deer hunting the damn things and I just couldn't make myself shoot him. He wouldn't have scored a lot anyway. Maybe it won't come back to bite me in the arse!

I almost got #3 this morning. He came hard until he entered the hay field an saw the strutter deke. I watched this bird get his butt beat and ran out off the field yesterday when the gobbler I killed and his running buddy jumped on him. I was after the strutter that was with my bird yesterday but I ran out of time waiting on him. I got up to circle on the younger bird when he left the filed and bumped the other bird coming to the field. I decided to leave since I had to be some where by a certain time and I was cutting it close on time. I'll be back tomorrow hopefully in some better weather. I was soaking wet and about to freeze. It wasn't very fun but the one gobbled pretty good once I got him fired up.

I got another good one this morning as Stony reported. He was a good bird and should look nice on our score card.

Good luck Todd and the rest of guys. We have the gas peddle mashed down pretty hard right now. Lets see if if we can bottom it out so the rest of these guys are looking at our tail lights all season grin

Haven't killed anything yet guys but it's not from lack of trying.
Been up every morning at 4 only to listen to gobble after gobble across property line. Our place is just too wet right now. Should have killed one this morning but even then he would have been 20 yds across line. Will be back at it mon-wed. Hopefully the weather will be better. Good Luck!!!

I should have killed one this morning but he came in and wouldn't cross a little stream to get to me. I let him walk off and moved on him to where he was at. Got setup and he gobbles 300 yards away. I'm sitting there calling every 15-20 mins and had been there almost 3 hrs when I decided to stretch out my leg and I hear the dreaded PUTT right behind me. It was deep so I know it was a silent gobbler that had snuck in on me from behind. He just eased off clucking never to be seen again. I gotta go back to work in the morning for 7 long days before I can get back in the woods.

Congrats Todd. Keep piling it on. I'm sure Ty has killed several by now. This pretty weather is killing me. They should be on fire when I get back after them on Thursday.

I killed #4 this morning. He was the one I missed Thursday. I let him get in my pocket this morning. Wasn't a miss this go around. My buddy drove up from Lousiana to hunt with me and he struck out this AM. We left Bibb Cty and drove south to my newly acquired Clark Cty turkey lease. We went to a fresh clear cut where I saw a strutter Tuesday while looking at the property. After a couple hours of blind calling he showed up and was hot. He was gobbling and strutting 300 yards across the clear cut. My buddy smoked him as he walked down his gun barrel.

Broke the ice yesterday morning. Not a huge bird but on the board. Would have been number two if I had not fouled a good bird up Saturday afternoon. Still makes me sick. Working in Blount county for a few more days then head to Clarke county to build a few bridges there.
