Ok, so I decided to buy a couple of these to try out. At 29.000, what do you really have to lose.

-Finish is gold anodized and looks pretty good

-Bait clicker is kinda of cheap, but again $29.00.

-Cast button is not very good and I can see this being a problem in the future.

-Casts and retrieves very smooth.

-Drag, when I actually catch a fish, I will let you know.

So far I will give it 3.5 stars and maybe more once I actually catch some fish with it.

Well, I used this real for 8 hrs on Saturday. Here are the positives and negatives

POSITIVES

- Under $30.00 and that is it!

NEGATIVES

- The old cliche you get what you pay for? Well, this could be the poster child for this reel.

-The drag is non existent, 2lb trout actually stripping line from the reel, with the drag tightened all the way!!

-Fishing line gets between the spool and reel frame

-Line release button locks up consistently

-Bait clicker is so weak, that any movement by the water sets it off, you can forget using this feature in anytype of current.

DONT BUY THIS REEL

Today I bought 4 rod/reel combos off a guy. They are all used, but have really nice baitcast reels. The rods are in great shape. Overall I'm pleased with what I got. I find it hard to walk into BPS (or anywhere for that matter) and pay $$$ for new stuff when you can find good used stuff if you look.

I bought a BPS extreme reel a few years ago on sale for $30 bucks. Fished with it 1 time and went back and bout 4 more and gave 1 as a gift. I've got high end pfluegers, diawas, quantums, and revos that cost as much as 4 bps reels and don't fish any better. They just don't have the same warranty. Sometimes you do get more than you pay for, just do an internet search before purchasing.
