I know it varies rifle to rifle, but I just wondered what factory hunting round groups best in your .308 Tikka T3?

I'm assuming that with an 11" twist, it makes sense that the lighter bullets would be more suitable...

Mine was picky with anything that had a BT on it. It shot the federal fusion 165gr very well.

I have shot both 150 and 180 Core-Lokt, Federal GMM Sierra Match King 168gr BTHP, 165gr Fusion and 149gr Mil-Surp. My T3 shoots everything heavier than 150 to the Same POA/POI @ 100 yards. 150 and lighter go .25" higher than the rest. It has grouped everything I ran through it into a .5" group.

My sons likes Hornady Customs with 150 gr SSTs on top. I'm betting it'll like about anything in the 150-165 gr range.

Mine shoots the Hornady 150 gr SST's really well also. I haven't tried anything else.

Thanks guys. If I can find some 165gr Fusion I will definitely try some. Yesterday I picked up a box of the Ted Nugent 165gr Barnes SSTX but haven't tried it yet.

Ted is proud of that stuff, or at least Academy is at $39 a box!

The best factory round I have shot out of mine was the Hornady American Whitetail 150gr. Dang near as good of groups as my handloads.

I hope you have better luck finding them than I have. All I can find is superformance.

Thanks guys.

Today at Marks I picked up some Federal Fusion and some Hornady Superformance SST, both in 165 grain.

And both a lot cheaper than the Ted Nugent Barnes SSTXs...

One of these is sure to group well.
