I absolutely loathe going in Wally World , and avoid doing so most of the time.
I got a line on some ammo they "found" as I was leaving work at 3:00 today. (They actually had some decent .40 cal ball ammo).
I stop by there , buy the ammo and quickly make an exit by the garden section.
As I'm almost to my vehicle , a 4 door sedan painted a nice purple color , rolling on VERY large wheels and blasting some kind of damn jungle anthem with some serious base and every filthy , disgusting word that could come out of anyone's mouth pulls into the empty space on my drivers side. There's three democrats in the car. No surprise.

Here's where I lost my cool.
Not only did they not turn off that crap , they rolled all of their windows all the way down and turn this crap up even louder !!! Me being the calm , easy going guy I am.....

Before I continue , keep in mind the parking lot was pretty crowded with wimmens and children coming and going.

I walk up to HIS drivers side from the front so he can see me coming. (I had already slipped my hand under my welding shirt). I motioned to him to get his attention. By this time the music instantly shut off. I say these exact words :
"HEY ! When you pull into a parking lot full of kids , can you not be courteous and turn that CHIT off ?"

To my surprise , he says ,"yessir , I'm sorry I didn't even think about dat , my bad !"
Naturally I'm confused now. I think I'm guilty of profiling. I assumed these kids were going to get mouthy and no telling what else. They were as courteous as any kid I've ever spoken with.
I'm going to answer my own question.
No , I was not wrong for asking them to turn their music off. I think if more people would speak up , maybe , just maybe , the world would be less one sided.

I was just surprised at how nice and polite they were after rolling up in there like Snoop Dog.

Had something similar happen awhile back with some idiot teen drivers. Expected a load of crap and got a box of "Yes Sir's"

Was surprised and impressed. Sometimes they just need a gentle nudge and reminder...

I do , and was. I was fully prepared to use it.
I couldn't "not" say something. It's just not in me.

You weren't wrong in your deed; you were very wrong in your approach. What makes you any different than them if this is the language you used in front of the onlookers?

You were not wrong but I would not have handled it that way myself. I look at it this way...if I was not armed I would never walk up to a car full of people that appear to be thugs and tell them to turn the music down. The fact that I was armed would not change my behavior. I don't arm myself so I can shelter innocent ears from profanity. I carry to protect myself and others from a life threatening situation. That is my opinion.

thank you sir. thumbup thumbup thumbup

had near the same thing one fine Jan day in Eutaw. Sitting in the parking lot of the Eutaw Baitshop talking to a buddy, windows down. Democrap pulls in beside me, loud, foul, noise bellowing forth. He cuts the car off, music off, and gets out . Turns back to the car, reaches in the window and turns on the switch....music is back on. No one in the car. He turns to walk towards the door.

I yell loudy "if you want that POS radio working when you come out you better cut it off...NOW"...

He scrambles to the window, reaches in and cuts it off.....

Those thugs will go only as far as you allow them to go. Stand up for yerself and don't let em run over you.

of course I'm the old white guy at Walmart that walks over to the fat female democrap in the 20 item line with 400 items in her buggy and says..."really, you think thats 20 items???" in a very loud voice. Pisses em off, makes me feel better, the wife dosen't ;like it laugh

Sharpshooter69, I heard Laura Ingram talking about doing almost the same thing at a gas station with basically the same response. I don't know if she was armed or not. Obviously it won't always work out so nicely, but glad it did. It takes a real man to do what you did. And, I totally disagree with mrinfo. You did the right thing BECAUSE you were carrying. Personally, I've got a family to think of. It has nothing to do with being a coward or a badass. It would be foolish to approach them and do "the right thing" unarmed. But make no mistake, it WAS "the right thing" to do. I carry, and would've done exactly what you did, but only if I was carrying. If the SHTF, it wouldn't be because I did something wrong. I would use my weapon to protect myself/family. It wouldn't be to protect innocent ears. I feel like you were thinking along the same lines.

I believe we just saw something similar to this in the news........that guy is looking at serious jail time for shooting into the vehicle full of teenagers playing loud music because when confronted them he thought he saw a weapon.......

Well I dont know if I would have been that worried, I would have told them what I wanted to say. I don't think there are that many real THUGS out there..

I have said alot of stuff to people like this in public, but I have never worried about my saftey I dont guess. maybe I should though......
