Lots of deer, not many big deer at least not where I used to hunt. That was 15+ years ago so may have changed

We killed some pretty good ones this year www.dixonmills.us we are just north of the Clarke county line though. We also had an astounding 13 bucks missed !

Those deer are impressive on your website. Is that a genetic thing for that area or do you guys and the surrounding landowners have strict antler requirements for member harvest ?

We have about 3300 acres. The rules are 6 point or better, but we really probably only kill maybe 3 or 4 six or five points a year. Most people are pretty careful. But man honestly we just have alot of deer, I have been a member for 4 years and I cant tell you how many really good deer I have trailcam pics of that nobody ever sees or kills and they just die of old age. Im not saying they are easy to kill , you have to hunt the big ones, but they are there for sure.

Used to be a lot of deer in Marengo but then the coyotes, FL hunters, and hogs moved in. Now you cant find one there. thumbup

Yeah I would steer clear of there. I would hit West Jefferson county, Geneva county or one of the other deer hotbeds.

all depends on where in Marengo Co. It can go from average at best to one of the best places in the state, but that's a very small pocket and no leased land that I know of.

That looks like the same deer but one year older. Related imo.

Weren't all of the Marengo County deer moved to other parts of the state?
