I need some new tires and decided to get away from mud tires and go with an AT tire. I have somewhat narrowed it down to these two tires. I can get the ATP for $149 a tire and the A/T3 for $176 a tire.

Anyone have either of these and if so, are they decent off road?

You already know, but I am running the AT3 on the Landcruiser. Performed awesome in this past ice and snow. I made several trips up and down hills that other folks were not attempting. Never slid once, but the AWD had something to do with that too I am sure. They have performed extremely well in the mud as well. Only one time did they slide on me in the mud and that over on the WMA and I was in that slick silty red gumbo mud. I got through, but slid a little going down a hill on it.

I like them so far as an alternative to mud tread.

My 285/75/R16 At'3s are 10 ply. If you never go off road, I don't see the use in spending the extra money for the AT3's. My family has the ATPs on an Expedition and a TrailBlazer and both ride very good. Got the AT3s on my OBS tahoe and they have served me very well.

I am certainly off road a lot. I have been running mud tires for several years. But, I want a better ride on the street and I don't want to replace them as often. So, I am getting something more road friendly.

You may want to check on the Mastercraft ATX's also Scott. They're made by Cooper. I've had a set on my Tacoma for two deer seasons now with no complaints.

That looks like the same tire as the A/T3

I just bought the AT/3 in 20" for my truck a couple of weeks ago. I'm pleased with them, they were rated at 55k, of course I never get that many with my driving habits. Sounds as though you have found a very good price my set was total 975. installed out the door.

I saw that. I think I can get them for about $20 a tire cheaper on line but not from a place with free shipping.

I don't have to pay to mount of balance, my brother in law will do that for me.
