Wait til cabelas puts their Alaskan guide 10x25's on sale for $199 again. I love those you can put them in your shirt pocket and never know you have them until you need them.

I have the vortex diamondbacks also, but I find myself leaving those in the truck and carrying the little ones in the woods

These Brent? On sale for $189. At < 9oz they weigh about 1/3 of my Zen-Ray 10x42.

I'm not educated on all the different brands, but I know when I was looking around, the 10x42 had much less eye strain using them. When I use smaller glass, I feel like I have to work harder to see...I'm sure that doesn't make sense, but if you can go somewhere that has lots of choices to look through at the same time, grab you some 8x25 and some 10x42 and compare them. I don't think you have to buy Swarovskis, but the vortex and zen rays I have looked through and they are much better than the bushnell 8x32 I used to have and much better than my buddy's Nikon 10x42 (I don't know which model Nikons he has). I'm sure those Cabelas binoculars would do fine for Alabama, but when it comes to Nebraska/Kansas and looking 800 plus yards, I would spend the extra money and get some that don't work your eyes so much.

Dang, looks line another $20 off for orders over $150 bringing them to $169. Tempting. Are they good enough glass for that?

I haven't yet.... The vortex and nikons are my front runners. I've checked prices several places and just trying to decide

Yes they are awesome little glasses. They usually list for $299. Like foldemup said above they are not made for hunting out west when you're spending hours a day looking thru them scanning fields.
For the way I hunt in Alabama they are perfect for me. I try to travel light and I don't like wearing binos on a harness all day.

I have a set of nikons and I don't like them. Not sure what model they are though. I love my vortex viper HD's!

Sounds good.

I was talking to another member on here about a pair he had but last he told me he was going to his truck to get them and I ain't heard from him since. Pretty sure he got ran the hell over in the parking lot since that was about 8:00 this morning.
