I've been looking to find some place to gun hunt and considering trying out some of the "undeveloped" TVA land. Anyone have any luck out there? Any pointers? Or is TVA land too covered up?

Wear ALOT of orange and watch out for the bullets flying by your head. Also, on most TVA land it suppose to be NO vehicles, atvs or etc... on the land at anytime, but that’s not always followed by everyone and could be very costly or even jail time if caught.
One more thing:There's only 2 weeks you can kill does on TVA land with a firearm:Dec.15-Jan.1

I agree. I have hunted it some, but I don't know if I would go back. I'm sure you could put in some time and have some success if you put your mind to it. Good luck.

No guns within a mile or so of the dams. Better check with TVA Land Management on that

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

Look in your regulation book under open permit public land. I think a lot of people aren't aware of it. They think that the doe regulations apply to TVA the same as private land. i had a guy at work once tell me how they had killed several does on TVA. I was like you do realize that it wasn't doe days and he didn't but was just like whatever. 2 weeks is a lot, seems like it used to be just 3 days

This doesn't include the land along GV Dam Rd. Bow hunting only there always and it marked clearly as so.

Yes call TVA and they will send you a map along with their regulations. I did that last spring and scouted there and hunted some. Still haven't seen anything other than a few small does though. Supposedly there is hunting club up top that keeps the population down ...

Good luck!

You can only Bow Hunt on the north side of the Guntersville Dam in the designated areas. Hunting on the south side of the river is prohibited.

The regs on the does are found in your Alabama hunting reg book...but I also work for tva so I have all maps and regs that I downloaded from work
Don't put any mineral licks, corn or even permanent stands on tva land but rocket62 is correct about different sites has no hunting or bow only

All I have to say is "know the boundaries". I have problems every yr with hunters that say they are hunting on TVA and are trespassing on us over 1/2 mile from the boundaries. It's an expensive ticket.
