Gonna try to share a few PICS of the 55" long timber rattler that I posted about my neighbor killing on his porch Sunday night after church. He brought the snake to me and gave it to me to eat.

Snake lying across his patio table after killing it. Notice how thick it is in the middle.

My neighbor holding the snake up showing the full length.

I did not think about taking any PICS of me skinning it out. Just slipped my mind.

Here is the skinned rattlesnake before I started boning it out.

Rattlesnake skeleton after removing the fillets.

Boneless rattlesnake fillets.

Bowl full of boneless rattlesnake meat.

Soaking in water to get the blood out.

Two plates full of boneless rattlesnake nuggets all cleaned up, sinew removed and almost ready for the deep fryer.

Scroll on down below for the rest of my PIC story.

Looks awesome! Are all snakes edible? Do they all taste the same?

Sucker sure was large in the middle of his body. I bet he never missed a meal just looking at him.

How many rattlers?

I would say you've cleaned a snake or two over the years.

Yes I have. I have cleaned several of them to eat.

I also am a former journeyman meat cutter. Cut meat for Winn Dixie for about 8 years.

Process all my own deer.

You cut up one critter, you've done them all. grin

I don't remember exactly. Seems like it was 5 or 6 with a button.

As big as the snake was I thought it would have had lots more than it did.

They are still attached to the skin and it's rolled up and bagged in my freezer.

Going to tan it later on.

That may be the biggest timber rattler I've ever seen shocked

That ol' codger is the first person I have ever seen wearing knock off Croc's with overalls. Nice snake.

Here is the rest of my PIC story.

Dip in egg/milk & batter in my secret recipe. There are several different ingredients in that batter. It is NOT just flour.

Deep frying in a small fryer pot.

Plate full of deep fried rattlesnake nuggets. I cooked only about half of the nuggets tonight. Got plenty left to do this again another day.

Full course meal of rattlesnake nuggets, steamed broccoli, white rice, toasted BBQ bread and boneless pork chops for the faint of heart!

My personal plate. Man, I'm ready to dig in!

My wife, oldest daughter, future son-in-law and myself have all ate a pile of rattlesnake nuggets tonight. What a fine meal! grin

I almost forgot to share that my wife took my neighbor (the one who killed the snake) a plate of nuggets over for him & his wife. He said they really liked it. thumbup

I hope all of you have enjoyed my 55" Rattlesnake PIC story. I've enjoyed sharing it with you. smile

Dang that looks good! My grandpa used to cook everyone he could find. Taste like chicken is right too.

That right there is one well worn pair of Liberty Overalls. Always like Liberty over the other brands.
My Great Granddaddy Tonie Whitman wore him some Liberty Overalls with a long sleeve blue button down shirt 365 days a year. That right there was the standard uniform around Easter at the Whitman/Smith homeplace in Ranburne, AL circa 1977.

Be hard to find a better one. Especially one with their own buffalos.
