I have a semi-sneak on a buck I killed about 30 years ago and it is my favorite of the deer I have mounted. Very similar to 1224's buck mount.

Nothing wrong with the McKenzie. I have a lot of deer on them, but the first Mears I ever used turned me totally. I don't think I will ever use another form.

Since you went with the semi up ped on your first, I would go with the Coombs Semi sneak ped for the second. Not only would it show body size, it looks similar to how he's posed in the trail cam pic.

Can any of you experienced in taxidermy what this form is called. When I look at the forms I have a hard time of picturing which is which.

Reb, it's a McKenzie 8800 series...not quite as upright as the 9800 and more perpendicular to the wall.

dang good looking form.

Just got my mount emailed to me. What do you guys think? I'm thinking he did not use the mount I asked for. It looks nothing like the picture I gave him. Not near as upright and the detail in the neck looks weak. I asked for muscle tone. I'm disappointed.

Go see it in person. The pic may not do it justice.

i think its the same form but from a bad angle. i wouldnt let a pic get me in a bad mood. draw your conclusions when you go pick it up. i was told on one of mine that the neck hair was simply too thick to see the muscle definition of the form.

I'm hoping your right. It is not the best angle nor photo. Still not going to add the muscle detail though I'm afraid.

It may look totally different in person. Sometimes a pic. doesn't do justice, and sometimes the opposite. If you're not happy, I would definitely voice it. I'm sure it's not cheap!

Definitely think the angle sucks. The pic you sent him is from directly in front of the mount and he was standing to the side of yours. I hope it doesn't disappoint you in person, was a fine deer.

Also, the pic you sent was taken from about level with the mount. The pic you received is at a downward angle.
