Sister in law left the water hose on full blast Sunday. It was noticed today about 5pm. How much water you think was wasted?

Also,it was to their duck pen. We also noticed one duck dead and another skint up good around the neck. 3 males and a female. Is it possible the one male killed the one and skint up the other one?

1st question: assuming 4 gal/min for 2.5 days, somewhere around 15000 gallons.

2nd question: yes.

It takes about 2-3 days to fill our pool up. It's 20,000 gallons I believe.

A hose is anywhere between 2 gal/min to upwards of 7 gal/min depending on source pressure and the length of the hose. Assume 5 gpm for now.

2.5 days is 60 hours. 5gpm for 60 hours is 30,000 gallons.

5gpm for 2.5 days would be 18000 gallons.

See how long it takes to fill up a 5 gallon bucket. Fill it up a couple of times and average the time. Then divide that time into the amount of time it was left on and multiply by 5 gallons.

I had one that got turned on and ran 3 days. Over 37000 gallons ran on the ground. Almost 800.00 worth.

Parents swimming pool is 10x18 and it takes 1.5 days to fill it up with a single waterhose. Cost is just over $200. Depending on where you live, you can count on atleast another $400 added to your water bill.

If your water company is anything like here in Mobile you will also be charged a sewerage fee.

Yup. You're right! There's a reason I'm in bed at 9pm too! Dang, I'm whooped!

yea water rates must differ from county to county a lot cause I have a pool that holds about 15-20000 gallons and my bill to fill it up was like 90 bucks and it took bout 2 days best I remember.
