Okay, let's go ahead and get the joke out of the way. IF, you were going to own firearms and IF you kept them in a gun safe, and IF you owned several to the point that your gun safe was getting full and was running out of room, where/how would you store ammunition that you were accumulating?

Inside for sure. Helps with humidity issues. Anywhere inside you feel safe where its secure, out of the way, and out of reach of kids.

Most of mine is stacked on top of my safes.

In deer!!! Nah. I fill up my mags and stack them in the safe. All else is stacked next to my wife's things in the safe.

I don't have room in my safes for my ammo. If I put it in there, I would not be able to store my guns in them.

I have always been told that keeping magazines full would hurt the magazine. Am I wrong? I'd like to keep about 10 of them full but have avoided doing so.

Yes eventually it will mess up the spring causing feeding issues when you are trying to fire the rounds. I would suggest if you have say 20 mags load 10 and rotate once a month..

Where do you purchase desicant packs?

Anyone on here ever tried putting an activated "Hot Hands" in a ammo can with ammo? I was told that the Hot Hands burn all the oxygen out of the can. Was good for storing food and ammo. Does it work?

The big green air and water right millitary boxes the buckles you turn are the best. Next step for me is digging holes and putting it where it can be safe for years. But you can put cedar in there. Moth balls etc. but in those air an water right boxes are the best. Or at least that's how I store mine. Those cans with trash bags around them. I just got some stuff out of the ground that had been there 5 years and not a bit of moisture was on any of it.
