My 15 year old daughter shoots my .308 and .270. My oldest killed her first deer at age 12 with a .308 Two roads diverged in the woods and I took the one with deep ruts,hills and mud.It may be bumpy but WHAT A RIDE!

If would go with the 7-08 over the 30/30. unless you are shooting over 100yrds it really doesn't matter. I would get it early and paint the stock pink camo. I would rather be turkey hunting
