I was too - everybody's sold out. Ended up buying a LNIB Model 60 made in '69 from a friend.
I love a J frame Smith.

I've got the S&W 642 and LOVE it. It's my everyday carry piece.

There is one on armslist in b ham. Guy is asking $425 Thanks for the heads up. My FFl can get the 642 for $370 new however, they are not in stock. He thinks it may be 2-3 weeks. I'll just wait. Hopefully I can find used on the mean time.

Bud's has the 638 back in stock but no 642s. Shrouded hammer vs hammerless.
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.
