The wife is wanting to get new kitchen appliances. I do most of the cooking and if we are going to get new stuff anyway, I would like to change the stove from electric to gas. Already have a gas water heater and furnace.
Would Alabama gas be the ones to run the line or would I need to get someone else to do it? It would not be hard. Just a run along the basement ceiling (unfinished) of about 30 ft and then up through the floor.

You or a plumber. Gas company doesnt do that.
Its really not hard. Turn the gas off at the road, T into line, turn gas on, use soapy water to check for leaks.

my father in law and I added a line for our new gas stove. It was really easy. The flare fittings make it pretty much fool proof. The hardest part was shelling out $100 for the copper tubing!

Gas company doesnt do that.
They did mine when I switched to a gas hot water heater. Why do you need to heat hot water?
