Romney 53-44 and Obama doesn't break 200 electoral votes.

I have a hard time believing that polls are accurate representations of what the People want. Like any other statistical data, polls can be manipulated and their results skewed. Political polls are never taken to find out what voters are in favor of. They are not information gathering tools for the candidate. The poll questions are ALWAYS given to focus groups or constituents who will give polsters the outcome the candidates are looking for. By nature they are biased and not neutral in any way.

Don't care how much, just needs to be enough where Dems can't steal it and with a clear mandate.
Picking up a few seats in the senate would help too.

Yep, I think Obama takes it, both in popular and electoral college totals. Hope I am wrong though.

This is based on 2010 Census. It is sad to think that Obama would even have a snowballs chance in hell to win if the Census was correct.

The overwhelming majority (97 percent) of the total U.S. population reported only one race in 2010. This group totaled 299.7 million. Of these, the largest group reported white alone (223.6 million), accounting for 72 percent of all people living in the United States. The black or African-American population totaled 38.9 million and represented 13 percent of the total population.

Approximately 14.7 million people (about 5 percent of all respondents) identified their race as Asian alone. There were 2.9 million respondents who indicated American Indian and Alaska Native alone (0.9 percent). The smallest major race group was Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander alone (0.5 million), which represented 0.2 percent of the total population. The remainder of respondents who reported only one race, 19.1 million people (6 percent of all respondents), were classified as "some other race" alone.

That matters only if you see Race as a factor. I don't. His color has nothing to do with anything.

The fact is Romney was 100% correct about the 47%. A large part of the liberal voting base vote on one or maybe two key issues that are important to them. Most of those issues are purely selfish in nature. Welfare, Abortion. They couldn't care less about the other issues, just theirs.

The conservative voter IMHO tends to vote on what's best for the country overall. Single issues matter, but not as much as the whole. They also have issues that are important to them such as abortion, taxes, immigration. But they don't for the most part let a disagreement on one of these blind them to the other issues.

The single exception to this was in 2008 when so many conservatives were just fed up and stayed home. The republican party better take a note this time around and do what conservatives want or we will be repeating this cycle again.

But many of your 72% white are in Romney's 47%. Not as easy as a "race" race.
