get down when deer are around. I was hunting this afternoon and had all kind of deer around but right at "the right" time a goodern stepped in view about 100 yArds and worked toward me but made it too late. 40 yards but just couldn't sling an arrow without seeing peep. He was headed to the green field I was about 75 yards off. I know there were numerous deer with this good buck in it. I have hooted like an owl, broken limbs and everything else I can think of. What is your best way. I sat till 720 tonight and finally climbed down as quiet as I could and slipped out. Just wish I would have remembered my flash light. What's your favorite way to not spook them.

I sat in a stand until 7:30PM last year during bow season waiting on deer to clear the field. I finally got tired of waiting and texted my wife to drive over in my truck and run the deer out of the field.

I blow at em, never had a problem with them sticking around after that. I figure if they think another deer saw or heard something and is leaving, I'd better clear out too without actually knowing what spooked em

I shined a flashlight at an 8 pointer last year that I was hoping my boy, who wasn't with me) would get a shot at later. I couldn't believe how curious the buck was at the light. He still hung around for 10-15 minutes after I shined the light at him. Finally I just started getting out of the shoot house whether he was there or not. He eased off but was seen in the same plot a few days later.

This is what I do. I actually blow really loud before I get down after dark even if there aren't deer in front of me, just in case they are nearby.

Lol. I have been there plenty of times. The flashlight trick doesn't work for me. They just hang around and stare and that new bright star in the tree. I usually whistle really high pitch and the deer seem to just move out because they can't locate the sound or know what it is. I have not noticed it affecting whether they come back or not.

I blew at one last night that was just out of range at dark. This morning he showed up 12 yds behind my stand. Drew on him but still didnt get a shot.

I just say OBAMA and it scares them off.

I tried the "say OBAMA" thing and had the strangest result. The handful of deer I could see came up to my tree in a perfect line as if looking for a handful of corn. Then, more deer came out and began cutting in the line. The next thing you know, they were all fighting and rioting. It was scary as hell. Don't say OBAMA in the woods.
