Did he “mule” kick or did he jump straight up. In my experience most times they mule kicked it was a good hit. If I missed low or hit them low they pretty much jumped straight up and hauled the mail. Also from experience, sometimes deer just don’t bleed for some reason. Sometimes it looks like blood was poured out by the 5gal bucket. As said above, once you’ve looked all you can, call the dog.
It's hard to kiss the lips at night that chews your a$$ all day long.

Calling the dog ifn it a good dog guy will get u an answer most likely. Several are listed at top of deer forum. Art Powers is very awesome. I imagine CNC and John V are too!

I hunt too close to a major highway to call in a dog, in my opinion. I couldn’t stand for someone’s tracking dog to get hit by the high traffic on that road, and for some reason, that’s the way the deer always head. I will update this post if I get any new information on the buck. Thanks again for your replies. Robinhedd

Robinhedd Most of them have collars they can stop their dog at the road and walk him across to your neighbor’s property where the buzzards will find him tomorrow
If you want to always win, never play anyone better than you!
