im starting to shop for a new one i have it narrowed down to two i think. the garmin Oregon 450t or the garmin 62st. anyone have one of these and can help me out choosing between the two. any gps help will be appreciated

Can't help you with those. I know the 62 has a lot of good reviews. I use a Delorme.

Both of those will serve you well, just make sure you get the water proof/resistant one.

All three are water proof to the IPX-7 standard which is submersion up to 30 minutes at a depth of 1 meter.

My eTrex is much smarter than I am. I wish someone would do an Aldeer tutorial on how to use a GPS unit. I could sure benefit from it.

It's hard because despite doing the same thing the features vary so much between models. I can help somewhat with the Delormes.
