Boat’s too big to sight fish in shallow water so you’ll need to fish points or rigs where you have plenty of water. I’ve been wondering if there’s a pond that’s deep enough on high tide maybe, but I’m not gonna spend all my time looking for it. Drafting 13 inches is a lot for down there it seems.

You'll be fine. I've spent a good bit of time down there and you won't have any problems getting around. There's plenty of good spots to fish. Are you targeting specks or reds? Both really. Specs to clean and eat and maybe a few reds. Gonna get on some of them bulls too hopefully.

If you’re staying at The Lodge, fire up a grill at the covered area by the boat slips and you’ll make friends and get good info. The water is salty due to lack of rain so it will be good fishing. Take a 12’ gig handle and make a push pole if you don’t have one.

Thanks We are staying at the lodge and I’ve got a lot of deer sausage that needs to go before my kids start killin deer in a couple weeks, so the grill part will be handled!

I need some redfish on the half shell. I haven’t had that in awhile. Yeah, I’m looking forward to it!

I have been stuck on a mud flat in Delacroix(the end of the world)
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

I have been stuck on a mud flat in Delacroix(the end of the world) That’s exactly what I don’t want to do! I don’t know about Delacroix right now but if you head a little farther down towards Venice, the trout bite is on fire. Peach, I’ll be headed south every time I leave the ramp, headed for “bigger” water. Gonna hit Eloi, and all that down there.

Seatow is your friend down there. I fish there a lot and know the area well. Fish anywhere around 4 horse, if you go south from the dock, follow somebody or go slow to make sure you stay in the channel until you hit Little (petit) lake. Go west and fish the West Bank of Big lake. Fish any of the points or grass lines. Use your trolling motor and have a push pole handy to get out of you get stuck. Not a lot of rocks, so you can power through the mud if you have to. Lake Robin can get a little shallow some times. Fish around grass points and creek mouths for reds. Trout will be more out from the bank, but I’m a reds guy. Thanks for all the info. We did pretty well. Had a double tide 2 of the days, but still caught fish. A lot of them! We managed to not get stuck or even come close. Love that area and will be back.
