I expect this "union" of two outdoor brands to completely destroy the image and performance of Mack's, just like it did Cabelas. There will be nothing but RedHead products wall-to-wall.

They’ve been in trouble for years. They make money during duck season and lose money the rest of the year. I’m sure the Banded wader fiasco didn’t help

Still not as bad as when Gander Mountain went under. That along with Cabela's getting bought by the private equity firm really changed the quality of store branded gear.

Well crap that sucks. I really like Mack’s clothing, jackets and what not. Just like I liked Cabela’s clothing before bass pro ruined it. They will ruin Mack’s as well.

That sucks. Mack's has/had some good quality products but now it will be all that chitty Redhead gear.

I haven't ordered from them in a while but I too hate to see BassPro suck up another one. Oh well...

I honestly don't know how Cabelas/Bass Pro are even still in business. Chain/Retail sporting goods seems like a market that ought to be on life support at this point. Please explain to me what those stores offer that you can't get from Amazon or Academy at the same price or cheaper. Surely they're not staying profitable by selling their house brand stuff, and I'm pretty sure gun sales to them is like fuel sales to a gas station...that's not where the profit is...it's just a reason to get you into the store to spend money on all the other stuff.

We hunted in Stuttgart for the opener last year, and will again this year (we've usually hunted around Portia/Jonesboro area, but the area we usually hunt has been flooded out enough to keep the farmer from getting a crop in, lately).
