what is the difference between a regular cultipacker and the scalloped wheels (notched)? Is one better than the other? I will be using it for foodplots, I use a tiller behind a tractor then will use the cultipacker for covering the seed. thanks in advance.

For sandy soils the smooth is better. For clay soils the notched is better. Either one will work pretty good in every situation though.

If you’re tilling to a fine powder, cultipack before seeding.

"Cull" is just another four letter word...

If you are buying new, get the one that is convertible from 3 point to drawbar. I haven't put mine on the 3 point since I took it off the first time. Just put the drawbar in and pull it with the Gator

Speaking of drawbar models, I know a guy that fabbed a four inch drop trailer ball hitch onto his tiller to pull a packer so he could lightly turn and pack at the same time.

My frontier tiller has a packer built onto it. Works of hydraulics. After having it I wouldn't have another tiller without it.
