Another door opens. We lost the best place we hunt. I been knowing we would one day and to be honest, im surprised it lasted this long. We still have two places we own here close. We also picked up another two places where we will be hunting the same deer that are on the place we lost. Cleared a place in the eoods for a food plot today at one of them. Probably just hunt the other place raw, like it is. Big bedding are/travel coridor. Just glad we found a couple places here close to hunt legal. Im too old to run. Several things in my life changed pretty quick the other day. I hate change but after thinking it over, it all worked out for my good. Took away alot of work. Opened up some new opportunity.

Heres the foodplot in the woods i pushed out today. Its about 1/2 acre. In the woods. Several white oaks around. Ive had a couple cameras out real close and theyve been getting alot of daytime pictures. More day pics than night pics. It was covered in sweetgum saplings. I pushed them to the creek with my skidsteer. Theres a small place on the left that stays wet, should make a good brassica patch. Ill move my shooting house from the plac we lost and put it here. Should be a productive spot.

No, but we didnt get any till mid december last year. There has been a big deer spotted around here. Theres a guy here close who gets pictures of him more regular, im gona ask him about it when i see him. Several people around here know about that deer

My buddy just got his lease pulled out from under him last minute sounds like some rich guy buttered up the land owner. Said the dude offered to pay him to leave his stands there too and he told him to f off. The rich guy figured he would come right in and hunt his prescouted stands and not have to do any work at all. Total bs.

He hadn't already paid the lease? Sounds like he should have paid that thing in June. If I leased some new property I'd probably ask the past guy to buy his stands as well. Not sure why him offering to buy the stands is BS.

There is one thing I have learned in my life be it a sweet hunting spot or a lake full of bass. If you have a really good spot enjoy it because unless you own it it will not last.

A good friend of mine owned this land, it was his families, right beside my families. He died 9yrs ago i guess. His wife and i were not as close but friends. She let me keep hunting it. She has three grandaughters. I knew when they started marrying, my hunting days would be numbered. It lasted a few years longer than i expected.she sent me a text a few weeks ago and said no more hunting except for family. I just texted her back that i appreciated the time we got to and it sure did mean alot, i would have my stuff out from up there as soon as possible. It was a blessing. I certainly wasnt owed what i got.

Great response JW! might help on down the road, some folks seem to wise up on down the road but some never get what's right.
