I’ve used a 16’ hog panel for years. I ran an old car axle through one end to tie to. I’ve pulled it miles and miles down gravel and even paved roads. Works like a charm. It’s probably about 13’ because I cut a little off so it would lay flat on my trailer. I just park the 4wheeler on top of it. If I ever tear it up, I think I’ll make another one with 2-3 sections that fold up on top of itself.

Have used a ROLL of chain link in the past too. That works very well, way better than a piece of flat chain link. Leave it rolled up like a log so the weight helps. Set it up on the back of the Honda for transport.

I have a drag mat like they use to drag golf course fairways and baseball fields. Its 8 feet wide and weighs around a hundred pounds. best thing is its very durable and you can roll it up and transport it very easily

Not really I keep it just to help a buddy plant his and let folks use it. If it’s not too far out of ur way or anyone ur welcome to come get it and use it since it’s one of those items not needed accept planting time.

I made one out of used tires. Wired them together and pull with a chain. Has worked great

Ive burned some old mattresses through the years and made these. I would cut those springs in 1/2 to make 2 drags. Cut a log to wire to it for weight. In hard to reach places we would just leave them to use the next year. Found one with a bush hog this year. Not good.

If you know anyone who has a track mounted dry screen( Shaker) in a sand and gravel quarry they might give you some of the old discarded wire panels from the decks of the shaker box. lots of these are 48X60 and the heavy gauge woven wire mesh with 1/2 to 1" openings work good.

If you have a military surplus store handy check to see if they have the pieces that they lay down in mud to make airplane landing strips. I have no idea what these are called, other than what I just described, but they are used by baseball parks to drag the infield. They work great.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

The best drag I had was a feeder house chain from a combine. I cut it in half and used 1 piece behind a 4 wheeler or I’d put the together side by side and make it wide and pull behind the tractor. It work great for leveling and covering seed. I fortunately they sat under 13 feet of salt water for almost 3 weeks after hurricane Rita and rusted all to crap.

It is definitely heavy duty. Easiest way I've found to load it in a SxS or truck bed by yourself is to roll it up, reach in the center to grab the tow bar, stand up and then curl it. It is like trying to lift dead weight if you leave it spread out and try to load it.
