We had deer in texas we tracked from birth to death…on a rare occasion thatd be over a decade…one in particular lived 14 years…at 1.5 he was like a 115in 12pt…rack wudnt outside his ears…cute little feller…he broke 200 as a 4yo an broke 230 as a 6yo…at 7yo…he was approximately 245in completely native all natural south texas deer..in a low fence to boot…at 8yo he wouldnd break 130and he stayed a turd until his 14th season…for whatever reason..and we never really figured it out..he blew back up to like 249…bigger than hed ever been ever…an they shot him that year…teeth were in bad shape but not completely gone. He turned out to be one of the biggest deer we ever killed off that 45k acres…he did have a nice rainy year as well

I don’t think the last 2 pics are the same deer. His brow tines go straight up. The 2 previous years his brows pointed inward towards each other. His G4s are a dead giveaway. They are almost 90 degrees off of the main beam. He definitely put on some brow tine this year.

Unless they’re tagged, it’s mostly a guess if it’s the same deer or not.

I killed a deer in texas..i had 3 years worth of pictures ( i thought😳)…140in 8pt…just a dang stud of a deer..bigger bodied than all the other deer, and he just bullied every other buck around no matter how big…he was a beast. Well, i killed him..an his teeth barely aged 5.5…i thought…they aint no way..he has looked exactly the same for three years..an he looked studly and old…low and behold..i was goin through some old files on the computer a few weeks later and i found some camera surveys from years back….that deer had had 2 different names by 2 different interns goin back 6 years…we had 9yo worth of pics of him when i killed him…we guessed he was 6.5 when i shot him..but he was probly more like 12.5. After doin some math…an lookin at pictures…when he was 4.5- 7.5..ish…he looked like a different deer..an i mean…he was a 190in dang monster…he had splits an kickers goin everywhere…even when he changed the firs time when the second intern found him…he was a typical big basket rack 12pt..probably 170…by the time the 3rd and 4th(me) came along…he done turned into a turdy old 140in 8pt🤠
