Well this is ironic because I did 3 root canals on humans Thursday, but my dog Parker has a slab fracture on his upper right carnassial tooth. Pulp is exposed, so eventually it will go necrotic and form an abscess.

Anyone have any good dental vet recommendations in the Birmingham area?

I use Alford Ave Vet Hospital for my 2 Bostons. One has a cracked molar thats been there for about 3 + years. They quoted a little over $600.00 to pull it 3 + years ago. It has not given him any trouble so far so I have decided just to leave things as is until a more serious issue arrives. Looks like its time for you to do something with your problem. Good luck !!

wouldn't a vet school (AU/MSU) probably have a way to help or send you to an Alum with expertise in that area? Just a thought...

Got Mr. P scheduled for an extraction. Damn I should have been a vet instead of a dentist with what they charge.

Tooth extracted today. Parker seems to be no worse for the wear. Cost about $800 for his yearly shots, labs, and the extraction.
