Can’t plow with all this rain. Any one tried just throwing millet on top of grass and mowing ( maybe) ?

We used millet all the time for erosion control when I did utility construction. Sometimes it was on disturbed ground and sometimes not. We just spread it in the existing vegetation and it always came up. If it was bare ground we through hay on top of it and it did fine.

So yeah I think it would work fine.

My father in law planted his field this way. It came up good in most spots but the faster growing weeds have taken over a couple areas.

Won’t be ready opening day but it will give the turkeys and deer something else to eat. Plus might be a late season hunt area.

I’ve always thrown and not mowed or sometimes mowed my duck hole. I burned down and planted corn. Corn got about knee high and I threw out a bunch of different millets. It’ll go to seed quicker as the daylight starts to wane. Won’t produce as much per se usually.

Kinda like beans do. They realize less daylight every day and start producing more and more flowers. Bermuda will toned quicker when it’s stressed.

Cnc I have let those poor beavers do their thing. I have gradually herded them to where I need them. If you can’t beat them manipulate them. Except for the 30 that are deceased lol
