Overall a slow day. The skipjack are scarce. I do believe those that catch them for resale to bait stores have severely depleted the stock. Hopefully, on Sept 1st, that will be outlawed for skipjack caught on the Tennessee River.

Caleb had fun catching bluegill for bait. He also enjoyed reeling in these three blues. Couldn't wait to slime his shorts because his Mom told him not too. grin

We had one excellent take down. The first time I have seen the tip on one of my MadKatz rods actually go underwater. Sadly, the hookset failed.

I believe you’re right on the skipjack. Several cast netters from dam to dam selling multiple 100qt coolers of jack/shad daily. Wouldn’t think there would be that big of a demand for it but I’ve seen it..
