Where did you put in and take out on Valley Creek? Is that John's Rd to Lock 17 Rd? Those are the only two that I see since they fenced off the area by the treatment plant. That's 13 miles!

The 13 mile trip was last weekend on the cahaba. This past saturday is when we floated valley creek. A fella behind my dads house was nice enough to let us take out on his place. It was about a 2 mile float from Johns road.

Awesome! We started taking our grandkids with us when they were about the same age...they loved it as much as we do, and are still always eager to hit the water!

Where's yall go this time? Same stretch of Valley Creek behind my dad's house. It is a pretty easily navigable run for the boy and if he gets bored I can flip a spoon out there and catch a dink or two to keep him interested. I have historically caught the bigger fish in holes slow fishing soft plastics, though. There are a couple of deep drop offs and rock walls we typically stop at and I target some bigger fish while he digs around and gathers up "Sea Shells" for his momma in some smaller pools. Usually our lunch spot as well

Valley Creek is still on my list. Haven't been out there because we haven't had any rain. Johns Rd to Lock 17 Rd is 13 miles and is ambitious even with the water up. There looks to be a takeout on Loftis Ln where an old bridge crosses the creek there. Might ride out there one day and see if that's useable.

I grew up fishing it when I was younger. We used to float from behind my dads house to Rock creek, no boat, no canoe, no nothing, just float on your back all day. Used to get out there during the summer and float and wander around in the woods and come out on Middlebrooks drive in Adger.. had to walk down the road until we came up on a house, knock on the door, ask to use the phone, call my dad, and ask him to come get us Awesome times back there as a kid

Looks great, thanks for posting! Valley Creek looks bigger than a lot of rivers.

Looks great, thanks for posting! Valley Creek looks bigger than a lot of rivers. It is a beautiful tributary....so sad how it has been abused over the years via various chemical spills, however, I will say that it looks better now than it ever has(other than the B'ham hide and tallow grease spill a couple months ago). There have been days where it was a pretty nasty cesspool

Valley Creek where it enters the Warrior looks like one of those floating plastic bottle islands that you hear about in the Pacific Ocean. It is awful.

It used to look that way all up and down the creek. Not as bad anymore but there is still some trash. But down there where it drains in at Clevengers, yes it is very bad
