Two weekends ago, me and my buddy Joe took our four year old boys on a 13 mile trip down the Cahaba from Jericho to the highway 14 boat launch. Can't say enough good things about the young un's they did an awesome job. Hung in there tough the whole time Last weekend we fished a section of Valley Creek I grew up fishing when I was a kid. Brought back so many memories being back on this creek. Felt good to take my boy back to my old stomping grounds. We started hauling in some pretty decent sized spots before the rain caught us. Ended up catching 38 total Saturday afternoon. When the bottom fell out we hunkered down under an overhanging limb and ate our sandwiches his momma had packed for us. Such good memories. Those are the only two that I see since they fenced off the area by the treatment plant. That's 13 miles! This past saturday is when we floated valley creek. A fella behind my dads house was nice enough to let us take out on his place. It was about a 2 mile float from Johns road.
