Not to rain on the OP but be careful on those grey boxes if they are those. They were by favorite ammo (140gr BTSP) by far for my .270 Featherweight. See my post from a year ago. Those old boxes are starting to go bad. Dang near blew up my gun and my face using old ammo from those boxes that were probably 10 years old.

They went to the brown and black boxes for the Custom, 10 yrs ago, if not longer. Been a long long time since I've seen the grey boxes. Still shouldnt have done that to your gun. Bad lot, bad loads,or something else. Rifle ammo generally does not go bad sitting on the shelf or in the safe. It really doesnt have a shelf life if it's kept in a cool, dry space.

I used to use the Hornady Custom soft points. Great round. GLWS.

Are the 140 btsp light magnum. Those light magnums were awesome!

Are the 140 btsp light magnum. Those light magnums were awesome! I couldn’t kill nothing but spikes with the damn things. Swapped over to the 140gr Custom BTSP’s and started hammering big bucks. 😜
