Just curious about things y'all carry hunting that may not be marketed as hunting gear. I like to take a cheap camo blanket when I hunt on the ground. I use it as a quick blind in front of me, seat cushion for wet ground, on really windy days I will tie it up to block the wind, and as an extra layer on colder days. What have y'all found to be useful in the woods?

Those buckets with a toilet seat on them. It’s so relaxing to have a good seat to handle business in nature. They come with bags so easy clean up

Toilet paper is for amateurs. The blue shop towels are where it’s at. I carry a few squares at all times.

Huggies scent free wipes are what the pros use.

By toilet paper I meant I keep a roll of paper towels in the back seat of my truck. The quicker picker upper!

Cigarette lighter

Being a type 1 diabetic I try to always make sure I take 4 or 5 piece of hard candy like werthers original or peppermints with me. It saved me a couple times this year when my sugar got too low while sitting in the stand.

Dental Floss

Screwdriver and wood screws. In a shooting house, you never know when you’ll need an extra hook to hang a coat, rig up blind material for windows or rig something to keep the door closed. Used them many times and it doesn’t take up a lot of room.

Not only for the obvious use but they make good trail markers when blood trailing a deer. If you miss some on your way out, they will disappear after a rain or two. Biodegradable is the word for this.

About 25 folded paper towels holded. They act as an azz cushion, blood marker and the obvious.

gallon zip loc for the liver .i never take much more than knife , guns, bullets (extra),,, flash light . if its rainy i may take a umbellar that screws in a tree . course my half gallon tea jug always goes if im staying very long .

If you are a dedicated public land hunter like me- A good pack. This is an area where it can be really beneficial to spend the money and get a high quality pack

Small pair of Shears (Like to trim shrubs) and a foldable saw. Waterproof matches, and a lighter, some para-chord. As above mentioned, snacks and something to drink.

I hear you brother! I keep skittles in my backpack, truck, and ATV compartment! When you crash, death isn’t that unrealistic!

Folding saw, para cord, extra head lamp, toilet paper, back pack to keep items in plus jacket, water bottle. I clip the backpack to my climber when walking public.
